Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a commonly used thickener, stabilizer, and anti redeposition agent in detergents, which can regulate product viscosity, enhance stability, and improve washing effectiveness.
Application Of Detergent Grade Sodium CMC
1、 Core application functions and mechanisms of action
Thickening regulates viscosity
CMC dissolves in water to form a network structure, which enhances the apparent viscosity of detergent systems through molecular chain entanglement, allowing liquid detergents (such as laundry detergent and dishwashing detergent) to reach a suitable viscosity (usually controlled at 500-2000mPa · s), facilitating pouring and use while avoiding delamination.
Suspension and stabilization effect
Its molecular chain can adsorb solid particles in detergents (such as enzyme preparations and frosted particles), prevent particle settling, and maintain system uniformity, especially suitable for detergents containing bleaching particles or frosted components.
Anti redeposition performance
CMC can adsorb onto the surface of clothing and dirt particles, forming a protective film to prevent dirt from reattaching to the fabric during the washing process, improving the cleanliness, especially for cellulose fiber clothing such as cotton and linen.
Improve user experience
It can reduce the irritation of surfactants, make detergent foam more delicate, and make the skin less tense after use. It is suitable for hand sanitizer, bath gel and other products that directly contact with the skin.
