Inconel 600 alloy pickling pipe

Inconel 600 pickled pipe (UNS N06600) is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy pipe known for its high strength, excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, and good performance at high temperatures (up to 2000°F/1093°C). Inconel 600 is commonly used in pipe form in the chemical processing, nuclear power, and aerospace industries due to its resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking, as well as oxidation, alkaline solutions, and sulfur-containing compounds. It is a non-magnetic material that is strengthened by cold working rather than heat treatment.

Inconel 600 Pickled Pipe

Purpose: Pickling removes any thermally induced oxides, scale, or other surface contaminants produced after the manufacturing process.

Process: Acidic solutions such as nitric and hydrofluoric acids are typically used to clean the pipe surface.

Benefits: Pickled surfaces are critical for many high-purity applications, ensuring material integrity and performance in subsequent processes.
