Telephone socket
In the United States, telephone jacks are also registered outlets, sometimes called RJ-XX.
In the United States, telephone jacks are also registered outlets, sometimes called RJ-XX. It is a series of telephone connection interfaces registered with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It is derived from some of AT&T's Universal Service Class Code (USOC) interfaces and is used in FCC regulations. The term jack sometimes means that it can be a socket and a plug, sometimes just a socket.
RJ-11
The most common telephone jack is the RJ-11 jack, which usually has 6 wires but only 4. The RJ-11 socket is similar to a socket from a common wire inserted in a familiar home or office phone. The outlet is connected to the outside connection to the telephone company's central office or private branch exchanged twisted pair.
The four lines are distinctive, with a pair of red and green, a pair of black and white. The red and green lines load voice or data. In the external connection of the telephone company, black and white lines are used to load low voltage signals such as telephone lights. In PXB systems, they are used to load other signals.
Computers that use a dial-up modem to connect to the network are usually plugged into an RJ-11 socket.
RJ-14
RJ-14 is the same as RJ-11, but 4 wires are used for 2 telephone lines. A set of wires (a telephone line) consists of a red line and a green line. The other group includes yellow and black lines. Each group loads a type of analog signal (voice or data).
RJ-45
The RJ-45 is a single-wire socket that is used for digital transmission over regular telephone lines, both twisted and non-twisted. This interface has 8 pins. To connect a modem, printer or data PBX with a rate of 19.2 Kbps, a non-twisted pair can be used. To connect to Ethernet for high speed transmission, use twisted pair.
The RJ-45 comes in two forms: keyed and unkeyed. The keyed type has a small button at the bottom and is well received by female users. Socket and pin must match
