The pharmaceutical industry makes considerable use of fluid bed dryer or fluidized bed dryer to lower the moisture content of raw materials like powder and granules. 

The working principle of fluid bed dryer is: The fluidization of the materials being fed into the apparatus is part of its operation. Through a perforated bed of moist solid particles, hot air at a high temperature and pressure is injected into the system in this procedure. Solids that are just a little damp are removed from the bottom and suspended in a stream of air (fluidized state). Once the moist solid and hot gases come into close contact, heat transmission starts to happen. The liquid is removed by the dry gas. Sometimes, the gas that is leaving gets recycled in part.
