Photoelectric encoder is a kind of sensor which converts the mechanical geometric displacement on the output shaft into pulse or digital quantity by photoelectric conversion, and it is the most widely used sensor at present. The general photoelectric encoder is mainly composed of grating disk and photoelectric detection device. The grating disc is a circular plate with a certain diameter and several rectangular holes are equally opened. Because the photoelectric encoder disc is coaxial with the motor, the grating disc and the motor rotate at the same speed when the motor rotates. The detection device composed of light-emitting diodes and electronic components detects and outputs several pulse signals.
