Magnetic encoders usually use the Hall effect or magnetoresistance (MR) effect to sense position information. Magnetic encoders with integrated Hall sensors require permanent magnets that can be firmly mounted on the rotating shaft of the motor. The magnetic encoder is non-contact work. Therefore, mechanical wear is not considered.
